February ... Here we Come!

February has finally come. We will be in China at the end of the month. We have our travel arrangements and will meet Emma on Feb 22.

I had asked for updated measurements. They came today. Isn't she beautiful? She is a little over 4 feet tall. They didn't get me her weight. She is a head shorter than Alison.

Current measurement: height 133 cm, head circumference 52 cm, chest circumference 64 cm, foot length 20 cm.
She’s very happy when she knew that she could see her parents soon."
133 cm = 4.3 feet tall
52 cm = 20 inches head
64 cm = 25.2 inches chest
20 cm = 7.9 inches feet

We are over the top excited about our trip. We are so ready to bring her into our family. Seeing how Alison has changed and her trials early on just makes me all the more anxious to get my baby home and yet I don't want to short change the experiences we will go through. The observations. What does she like? How does she react? What are her favorites? Favorite color? Favorite activity? Is she ticklish? Like a back rub? A foot rub? How do we teach her to trust? When will she love us? Is she scared?

My heart breaks for what is left behind. All the familiar. All the sights, sounds, smells of home. I know Emma (and Alison) will have a great life here but they are leaving home. Leaving absolutely everything that brought them comfort and joy. To leave their dreams in what they know to the unknown... as an adult I would be terrified and she will be leaving as a child. A very brave child. My girl. Our girl. Soon to be here. Need to get this girl to really smile. What does her laugh sound like? Oh, I can't wait to hear that voice. Love ya girl...
